AthensWest is looking for a group of dedicated and hardworking individuals to join its ensemble to create intimate, dynamic, and compelling professional theatre for Central Kentucky audiences.

Interns are key to the success of our operations, and play an important role in all of our programs, productions, and activities. This is a great opportunity to develop your resume, to work alongside professional artists, administrators, and technicians, and to add skills and experience to your toolbox as a working professional.

MARKETING & ADMINISTRATION - For those interested in the administrative side of theatre production. Interns will assist in administrative and marketing initiatives, and house management.

PRODUCTION & DESIGN - For young professionals interested in the design and construction of sets, lighting, costumes, props, or sound. Interns will assist in the design and build for productions.

STAGE MANAGEMENT - For those interested in learning about stage management in an Equity theatre. Interns will serve as Assistant Stage Managers for productions.

ARTISTIC - For those interested in directing, casting, and dramaturgy. Interns will work with auditions, and as a Dramaturg or Assistant Director for productions. 

ACTING - For actors interested in working alongside professional artists and in furthering their knowledge of the craft. Interns will understudy important roles and experience all sides of the business.

Please specify what internship(s) you are interested in interviewing for, and if you are interested in one semester only (August through December or January through May) or for the whole school year (August through May). Interviews will take place Thursday, June 6, or on an alternate date if need be.

 Interns must be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, and be legally able to work in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Students are encouraged to use AthensWest internships to fulfil school requirements. Some tasks may involve lifting more than 20 pounds.
